Blu Note Notary – Terms of Service & Policies

Welcome to Blu Note Notary. By accessing our website, scheduling an appointment, or receiving services, you agree to the following Terms of Service and Policies (“Agreement”). Please review this page carefully, as it governs your use of our services both in-person and online.

1. Scope of Services

Blu Note Notary provides professional notarial services in accordance with Missouri state law, including:

  • Acknowledgments

  • Jurats

  • Oaths and Affirmations

  • Certified Copies (where permitted)

  • Remote Online Notarization (RON)

  • Mobile Notary services

Blu Note Notary is not a law firm, and no employee or representative is permitted to provide legal advice, interpret documents, or recommend which type of notarization you need.

2. Identification Requirements

To complete a notarization, all signers must present valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification. Acceptable ID includes:

  • Driver’s License

  • State ID

  • Passport

  • Military ID

The name on the ID must match the name on the document.

Blu Note Notary reserves the right to refuse service if proper identification is not provided.

3. Document Requirements

Clients must ensure documents are:

  • Fully completed before appointment

  • Unsigned (if signing must occur in the Notary’s presence)

  • Legible and lawful

  • Presented in their entirety (all pages included)

Documents that are incomplete, unlawful, or suspicious will not be notarized.

4. Fees

Blu Note Notary complies with Missouri’s statutory notary fee limits.

Statutory Fees (Missouri Law):

  • Up to $5 per notarial signature

  • Up to $25 for Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Additional Fees (Non-regulated, disclosed upfront):

  • Travel fees for mobile appointments

  • After-hours or emergency service fees

  • Platform/technology fees for RON

  • Printing, parking, or toll fees

All additional fees must be agreed upon prior to service.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless otherwise stated in writing.

5. Remote Online Notarization (RON) Policies

RON sessions require:

  • Stable internet connection

  • Webcam and microphone access

  • Uploaded ID for verification

  • Consent to audio/video recording

Identity verification may include:

  • Credential analysis

  • Knowledge-based authentication (KBA)

  • Visual confirmation

Failure to complete verification will result in cancellation.

All RON sessions are recorded and securely stored for the time required by law.

6. Appointment Policies

Cancellations

Clients must provide at least 2 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

No-Shows

A “no-show” may result in full travel fee charges and may affect future booking availability.

7. Right to Refuse Service

Blu Note Notary may refuse service if:

  • Valid ID is not provided

  • The signer appears impaired, intoxicated, coerced, or unable to understand the document

  • Documents are incomplete or contain red flags

  • The request violates Missouri notary law

This is to uphold legal and ethical standards.

8. Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

Blu Note Notary respects your privacy and maintains strict confidentiality regarding all documents, personal information, and session recordings.

Information is only released when:

  • Required by law

  • Mandated by court order

  • Needed to comply with regulatory obligations

Your information is never sold or shared for marketing purposes.

9. Recordkeeping

Where required by Missouri law or RON platform regulations, Blu Note Notary may maintain logs, electronic journals, or audio/video recordings. These records are stored securely.

10. No Legal Advice Disclaimer

Blu Note Notary and its representatives cannot and do not provide legal advice. We cannot:

  • Interpret the meaning of your document

  • Suggest which type of notarization you need

  • Evaluate legality or enforceability of your documents

If you need legal assistance, consult a licensed attorney.

11. Limitation of Liability

Blu Note Notary is not responsible for:

  • Errors in your documents

  • Legal consequences of document contents

  • Issues resulting from your document once notarized

  • Platform failures, connectivity issues, or electronic delivery delays

Liability is limited strictly to the amount paid for the specific notarial service.

12. Website Use

By using our website, you agree not to misuse the site, submit fraudulent information, or interfere with website operations. Information submitted via forms must be accurate and truthful.

13. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri.

14. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website, booking an appointment, or receiving notarial services from Blu Note Notary, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service & Policies.
